My name is Louise and I’m one of the Occupational Therapists working for Now, Next & Then. I believe that every child has the potential to live a happy and fulfilled life and I feel lucky that I can work with families to help achieve this. I absolutely love being an Occupational Therapist and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

I started working as a Children’s Occupational Therapist in 2008 and since then I have developed extensive experience working with children through all stages of childhood, from birth into adulthood. I love working closely with parents and carers, to help them to understand their child and to increase their confidence during everyday activities (occupations) and I am excited to be able to now find myself working in a team of colleagues who care as passionately about their role as I do.

“Louise is intuitive, determined and innovative. She oozes dedication to the children and families she works with and works in a completely child centred way to motivate and get the best out of each of them.”

Before joining Now, Next & Then I worked as the Early Years clinical lead for Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset, where I was able to develop my passion and skills working with babies and pre-school children.  This experience enabled me to further my special interest and so, alongside Now, Next and Then, I also work on a busy neonatal intensive care unit, supporting families at the very start of their journey together.

I’m an honest, energetic and compassionate person. I take my time to connect on personal level with everyone I work with and always strive to achieve the best outcomes for each child. I’m just as committed to working as part of a team, whether ‘in house’ or with Teachers, Educational Psychologists, and the range of other health professionals. I know that working in this way means that each child receives the best support I/we can offer.

Outside work, I live at home with my husband and two children. I enjoy playing the piano and when I am able I love travelling to visit my family in Scotland. My happy place is my garden and whenever I have spare time I can be found pottering in my greenhouse.

“We will always be so grateful to Lou for the kind, caring guidance she has given us as a family, as well as her knowledge and skills to help Gus to be the happy boy he is today.”
